The Diamond Divas

Lexy Legs and I have been both best friends and a double act for as long as I can remember! Even when we weren’t in a frock, we could be found causing envy and rage with our mischief in and around Yorkshire! Known thorought the cabaret circuit as consumate professionals, Lexy and I have had the privilege of working with some of the best in the business. A career spanning 15 years has seen many incarnations of the act, however, Lexy and I remain constant (or is that constipated?!), in either event, we’re still around and like a sticker on glass, you just can get rid of us (no matter how you try!).

Our full show is a 2 hour extravaganza of glamour, comedy, stand up and audience participation. Having worked in some of the most prestigous venues in the country, we have a show to suit your needs. Always professional, always punctual and always accomodating, is our promise.

Lexy and I would like to mention just a few of our friends who have supported, taught, given their time and expertise and given us advice (even when we didnt really want it in some cases), but here we go:

DJ Marky Mark – without whom, this website would never have clicked into existence! A true friend and pal, and who’s always got the gossip!!

Sam Buca, Susy and Delia – Our back up girls in the beginning and now stars in their own right. From international cabaret to Asian dancing, from drunken nights out to sick in gutters, they have seen it all. We are so proud of them, its wonderful to see them grow (and in some cases, keep growing and growing lol).

The legandary Adrian James – drag queen extraordinaire, both Lexy and I have worked with Ada, another true pro and friend. Even though we’ve had ups and downs, when the curtain goes up, the face goes on!

The Lady Stella – Wakefield answer to Sharon Osbourne – filthy mouthed alcholic who makes me pee a little bit everytime we talk. Having known Stella since her inception, I can only say that i couldn’t imagine life without her.

Bears Aloud – THE funniest group of people, we have ever had the pleasure to meet. Each and every one a beautiful person.

Anna Glypta – The gobbiest Queen on the Scene. Another little sparkler in lifes dank and dreary depths. Funny, witty, uncompromising and giving.

Miss Orry – despite what some people say, I have to thank Orry for my first opportunity at a big stage, I wouldnt be the performer I am today without it.

Danny Cher Bailey – Well what can you say about this one lol, one of the funniest people I have ever met!

Porcha – Even though I have no idea where this one is, you can always guarentee a good night if she’s around!

Miss Precious – One of my best friends with a true heart of gold. It’ll take you a while to melt through that icy exterior (well thats if she doesnt wave you away lol), but if you’re lucky enough to, you will have a friend for life.

The one and only Mr David Dale – the epitomy of showbiz, we had the rare pleasure of working with this man in the Birdcage Manchester and Leeds and although she’s got a temper like a badger on crack, this girl can still teach a few old dogs some new tricks!

Phyllis Whiplash – My mother and tutor in all things patter. This man is the reason i got into drag to begin with, a wit that can cut glass and nails that will tear tights, truly one of my heroes!

The Bradford lot – I spent 10 years working in Bradford, between The Sun, Lingards, Club Life, and Bar Uber. I have met some great people and I will always have time for them.

The Wakefield lot – The list goes on and on for the hometown gang! Nigel Palfrey, Sol and John Pickwell-Nicolaou, Messers Wood and Bunting, Her Worship former Mayoress Jaquie Williams, and everyone else (of which there are far too many as my facebook will testify!). Each and every one a diamond themselves.

Lexy Legs – My best friend, my sister, my confidant. A person without whom I could not (nor would I want to ) perform.

All sounds a bit soppy I know, however, we feel its important to set out in black and white what we think so there you go. Ah the marvels of free speech!

Now down to business, the Diamond Divas perform every Saturday night and the Glam & Glitz Showbar in Scarborough, where we have worked for the last 2 years (well 3 for Lexy!). We must also take the opportunity to thank Neil (and previously Dave), the owner of the club for our continued success and look forward to much more!

We are also to be found, now and again, mooching around the New Union in Wakefield (dont forget Marky-Mark and I host the Wakefield Pride event!) doing our thing or usually just getting hammered – Hoorah!
